Arsenal are one of the Premier League teams keeping tabs on Napoli’s Stanislav Lobotka, according to 90Min.
As well as the Gunners, the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have apparently been eyeing the 27-year-old.
Apparently, Spurs wanted Lobotka when he was at Celta Vigo, though he eventually opted to join the Partenopei.
‘Tottenham have since retained an interest in him, while Arsenal and Liverpool have also kept tabs on his progress,’ wrote 90Min.
However, it looks as though Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool may not succeed in signing Lobotka.
90Min claims Napoli are on the verge of agreeing a new long-term contract with the Slovakia international.
Not great news for Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool.
But until/unless an announcement comes out, then you’d like to think nothing is set in stone.
Arsenal missing out on ‘exceptional’ talent?
Lobotka joined Napoli from Celta Vigo in 2020 and has developed into one of the division’s top defensive midfielders.
The 27-year-old has played every game of his side’s unbeaten season so far.
Lobotka has impressed in the heart of midfield alongside former Fulham ace Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.
The “extraordinary” 41-cap ace has also kept Spurs loanee Tanguy Ndombele out of the starting XI.
As well as Napoli and Celta Vigo, Lobotka has played for Nordsjaelland, Jong Ajax and AS Trencin.
In terms of his style of play, head coach Luciano Spalletti has compared him to Andres Iniesta.
And on Twitter, fans have likened Lobotka to Marco Verratti and Santi Cazorla.
