Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham are among the teams trying to position themselves to sign Danish starlet, Gustav Isaksen.
According to Calciomercato, AC Milan are watching Isaksen closely after he impressed in a recent game with Lazio.
Isaksen scored during that clash between FC Midtjylland and the Rome club. However, while Milan like the look of the 21-year-old, they face competition from a number of clubs in England, including Arsenal and Newcastle.
Calciomercato names the the big-spending Premier League duo alongside West Ham as being keen. A price tag of around £17m has been suggested. To Midtjylland, that is a huge sum. However, English sides will have little trouble coming up with that sort of money.
A January move could be on the cards for Isaksen. He has impressed in the Europa League this season, scoring three goals in five games to add to his four in 14 in the league.
Isaksen has already won a league title in Denmark. He is well on the radar of the Denmark national team too, having starred for their under-21s. The youngster will look at the likes of Christian Eriksen and Mikkel Damsgaard for inspiration when it comes to securing a move to the PL.
Our View: Isaksen looks a real talent
Like so many to emerge from the Scandinavian nations in recent years, Gustav Isaksen looks to be yet another player of high quality.
Capable of playing on both wings or even in the number ten position, there is a lot to like. Milan clearly liked what they saw when he was in Italy and it’s easy to see why.
For the Premier League sides interested here, £17m isn’t that big an outlay either. However, whether or not they fancy making their move in January remains to be seen. Arsenal, in particular, would need to be careful given they are playing the Europa League and wouldn’t be able to use him.
