Arsenal are being linked with a number of wingers ahead of the January transfer window.
The Gunners tried to bolster their flanks late on in the summer, but failed to get any late signings over the line.
Now, with just over two months until the window reopens, Arsenal will soon be able to bring in new recruits.
The likes of Cody Gakpo have been linked with the Gunners for months.
But now, according to Calciomercato, Edu and Mikel Arteta could be looking to Denmark for a new winger.
The Italian outlet claims Arsenal are one of several sides in pursuit of FC Midtjylland’s Gustav Isaksen.
As well as the Gunners, the likes of Newcastle United and West Ham United are also eyeing the 21-year-old.
Isaksen reportedly has a £17million price tag.
Arsenal target Isaksen – factfile
Isaksen largely plays on the right wing, but can also feature on the left.
He came through the ranks at Midtjylland and made his senior breakthrough in 2019.
Isaksen has made 114 appearances for his club, registering 18 goals and 10 assists.
Seven of those goals have come this season, with three in the Europa League.
Football Talent Scout published an in-depth analysis piece about Isaksen earlier this year.
‘Gustav Isaksen is a very versatile player,’ wrote Jacek Kulig.
‘He can dribble, pass and shoot very well with both feet which gives him an advantage when taking on the opposition, but he seems to be best when cutting in from the right, where he can use his left foot.
Gustav Isaksen’s main strengths right now seem to be his speed and dribbling ability.
‘He is not your playmaking winger, but once he is isolated with a defender, and he is given space, they will have a tough time, because his acceleration and top speed are extremely impressive, while he is also great at keeping the ball glued to his feet.
‘When you also watch him play, you also notice how big of an impact he has on a game, which may not show up in the statistics, because he causes so much trouble for his opponents, which eventually creates space for his teammates to take advantage of.
‘So extremely quick’
Kulig also compared Isaksen to Barcelona and France ace Ousmane Dembele.
‘Gustav Isaksen’s profile is very similar to Ousmane Dembele’s,’ he continued.
‘While Dembele is currently struggling, most people also know and remember how good the French winger was at Stade Rennais and Borussia Dortmund.
‘Neither of the two players are goal machines, and both can struggle with their decision-making, but they are both so extremely quick, and so great at dribbling at high speeds, which almost certainly will cause the opposition problems at some point in a game.’
