Declan Rice seriously impressed by £33k-a-week Arsenal player’s performance against Liverpool yesterday

West Ham United man Declan Rice was seriously impressed by Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka’s performance against Liverpool yesterday – and let his England teammate know on Instagram.

Saka put in an incredible display at the Emirates yesterday and bagged two goals in Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The Gunners came flying out of the blocks and found themselves ahead inside the first minute of the game after Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring.

But Liverpool grew into the game and equalised through Darwin Nunez just 15 minutes later. And the Reds dominated for the rest of the half.

Yet, Saka got on the end of a brilliant ball across the box from Martinelli right at the end of the first-half to give Mikel Arteta’s side the lead. Arsenal dominated the second-half but found themselves back on level terms after Roberto Firmino produced a brilliant finish.

But when the Gunners won a penalty in the 76th minute, Saka stepped up to beat Alisson from the spot and secure all three points. And Rice has shown his appreciation for the £33,000-a-week Arsenal winger’s performance yesterday.

Rice seriously impressed by Saka

Saka posted to Instagram following Arsenal’s win over Liverpool yesterday. The 21-year-old wrote: “That was for you, Gooners.”

Declan Rice replied with a wordless reaction and was seriously impressed by his international teammate’s display.

The West Ham United midfielder posted a fire emoji in response to Saka’s performance.

Saka and Arsenal have got off to a dream start to the new season and leapfrogged Manchester City back to the top of the Premier League yesterday.

The Arsenal star got off to a relatively slow start to the season as he only managed one goal and two assists in his first six appearances. But now Saka has scored twice and registered two assists in his last three games for the Gunners.

Arteta will be hoping Saka can continue his brilliant run of form over the coming weeks as Arsenal face a packed fixture schedule before the World Cup.
