‘Defensively’: Mikel Arteta wants one Arsenal attacking player to ‘improve’

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told Goal that Bukayo Saka needs to improve defensively.

Arteta made the comments about Saka following Arsenal’s win against Bodo/Glimt away from home in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.

Saka scored the only goal of the match.

While Arteta was impressed by how the England international played in attack, he believes that the youngster could still improve defensively.

Saka can play as a midfielder, winger or full-back.

Arteta said about Saka: “He had moments in the game where he was really good and then moments he can improve and demand more of himself, especially defensively.

“There were moments where we allowed their left full-back to progress the play and break our press too easily. There are a lot of things to improve.”

Bukayo Saka is one of the best young players in the Premier League and is doing well for Arsenal.

The 21-year-old has been doing well this season, but, as with any young player, there is always room for improvement.

Saka has scored three goals and given four assists in nine Premier League matches, and has scored one goal in three UEFA Europa League games for Arsenal so far this season.

The sky is the limit for Saka, who is a very humble player and has been continuously improving and developing his game.

For Arsenal to be successful this season, in our view, Saka will have to play a big part.
