England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale says it is sometimes hard to communicate with Arsenal teammate Gabriel Magalhães.
Ramsdale told the Kelly and Wrighty Show that it has just become natural now for Arsenal’s backline to celebrate saves and blocks together.
Gabriel had a mixed afternoon against Fulham on Saturday, but Ramsdale says his English is improving, making communication easier.
He made the mistake which allowed Aleksandar Mitrović to open the scoring, but then got the winner as the Gunners turned the game around.
Arsenal goalkeeper Ramsdale discusses Gabriel
He said of the celebrations among the backline: “It’s come very natural for me throughout my career.
“But when we first came in, especially last year, and me, Kieran, Big Gab, Ben and Tomi were training day in, day out together it just became a natural bond.
“Even though Gabi’s English is improving, last year it was a bit difficult, it probably helped him for us to show our emotions for him to understand what we’re trying to say, rather than just speak to him.”
The 24-year-old showed his character to win the game for Arsenal against Fulham and his celebrations told their own story.
The Emirates Stadium is buzzing right now, with the Gunners on four wins from four at the top of the table and confidence high.
Ramsdale and Gabriel are a huge part of that and you can see the closeness in the Arsenal side right now, and they will hoping to keep the momentum rolling as long as possible.
