Griffin Yow joins Belgian First Division A side KVC Westerlo from D.C. United

D.C. United homegrown player Griffin Yow is joining Belgian First Division A side KVC Westerlo.

He departs the Eastern Conference team after making 32 Major League Soccer appearances since his professional debut in 2019. Yow managed just three goals and two assists during his time with the club.

“We want to thank Griffin for his years of commitment to the club starting as an academy player,” general manager Lucy Rushton said in a release.

“He was one of the first homegrowns to prosper from our Pathway 2 Pro program after getting his foothold in professional soccer by playing important minutes with our USL Championship side, Loudoun United FC. We wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career.”

The forward first joined the D.C. United academy in 2016, spending four years working through the ranks before reaching the senior team. He spent the 2019 season going back and forth between the D.C. United first team and USL counterpart Loudoun United.
