Speaking on Goal’s YouTube channel, Emile Smith Rowe has been asked to name the best player he’s ever played alongside.
The England international has shared the pitch with some incredibly talented footballers, from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Bukayo Saka, but according to Smith Rowe, his greatest teammate is Mesut Ozil.
The World Cup winner was named by Smith Rowe as the best player he’s ever worked alongside.
WHAT’S BEEN SAID?
Smith Rowe had nothing but good things to say about Ozil.
“Who is the best player you’ve ever played with?” Smith Rowe was asked.
“The best player I’ve played with is Mesut Ozil. Everyone knows how good he is so yeah, I have to say him,” Smith Rowe said.
The Arsenal ace seems to have a thing for attacking midfielders as he then named Kevin De Bruyne as the best player he’s ever come up against.
“The best player I’ve ever played against is Kevin De Bruyne, last season, the same again really, everyone understands what he does,” Smith Rowe said.
HARD TO ARGUE
While Smith Rowe has played with some exceptional players, it’s hard to make a case against Mesut Ozil being the very best player he’s shared a pitch with.
The 33-year-old may be past his best after being released by Arsenal in 2021, but in his prime, he was one of the very best midfielders on the planet.
You don’t play for Real Madrid and win a World Cup unless you’re special, and it’s fair to say that Ozil was a very special player in his pomp.
The German was so gifted, but sadly, his career at Arsenal was cut short after he lost form and fell out of Mikel Arteta’s plans.
