Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard has told Football.London that he loves playing with Fabio Vieira.
Odegaard made the comments about the £34 million summer signing from FC Porto (Football.London) following Arsenal’s win against Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.
Norway international playmaker Odegaard started the match and so did Portuguese attacking midfielder Vieira.
MARTIN ODEGAARD ON ARSENAL TEAMMATE FABIO VIEIRA
Odegaard said about Vieira: “It’s brilliant to play with him. He’s a great player with great qualities, especially on the ball. I enjoy playing with him and hopefully we can do it more in the future.
“He’s a little bit different to me. I don’t like to compare to much but we’re a little bit different and we can play different positions, both of us, so we’ll see in the future what happens.”
Fabio Vieira has had injury problems at Arsenal, which is why he is only just starting to show what he is capable of.
The 22-year-old has made one start and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners so far this season.
The Portuguese youngster has scored one goal in those matches.
Vieira has also scored one goal and provided one assist in three UEFA Europa League games for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this campaign.
As Odegaard notes, he and Vieira can play together despite both being playmakers, and that is very exciting for Arsenal fans.
The Gunners are aiming to challenge for the Premier League title this season as well as make an impact in the UEFA Europa League.
