‘I will definitely score’: Arsenal star claims he’s definitely scoring against PSV tonight

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Gabriel Jesus has vowed to score against PSV on Thursday evening as Arsenal head to Eindhoven in the Europa League.

The Brazilian started brilliantly at Arsenal after arriving from Manchester City, but in recent weeks his form has slightly dipped, especially in front of goal.

Indeed, Jesus has gone five games without a goal, and while that isn’t the end of the world, if this continues for much longer then questions will be raised.

However, Jesus has stated that his goal drought is coming to an end, definitively claiming that he will be scoring in the Europa League this week.

JESUS WILL SCORE

The South American spoke about his goal drought and vowed to break his duck.

“This has happened before and I’m sure it will happen again. That’s football. I don’t want it to be like this and I want to improve. Next game I will try again and 100% I will score,” Jesus said.

PRESSURE’S ON

Well, that’s one way to put a bit of pressure on yourself.

If Jesus does go on to score against PSV this will be seen as the player just being confident in his own abilities, but if he doesn’t score, he will be leaving himself open to all sorts of criticism.

We’ve seen so many talented strikers suffer lengthy goal droughts, and if Jesus doesn’t start scoring soon, these words may well come back to haunt him.

Jesus is clearly confident that he’ll be able to do the business against PSV, and these comments do indicate that he’ll be starting against the Eredivisie outfit, but whether or not he can find the back of the net in this game remains to be seen.
