‘I’m not close’: Gabriel Jesus says he simply can’t keep up with two Arsenal players

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Gabriel Jesus has been talking about Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli in Arsenal training.

The two youngsters have been arguably Arsenal’s best players this season, and according to Jesus, they’ve been absolutely brilliant behind the scenes too.

Indeed, the Brazilian claims that the young duo are ‘machines’ in training due to their energy and workrate, stating that even he can’t keep up with these two.

JESUS CAN’T COPE WITH SAKA AND MARTINELLI

The striker discussed his teammates and their efforts in training.

“They are machines. I joke with them because I think I have a lot of energy but when I train with them I realise I’m not close because they don’t stop. They’re still young so I’m lucky to play with them,” Jesus said.

HIGHEST PRAISE

This is absolutely huge praise when you consider who it is saying this about Saka and Martinelli.

Let’s not forget, Jesus has come from Manchester City. City are arguably the most intense and most talented team in Europe right now, and he’ll have trained with that group of world-class stars day in, dayout for half a decade.

However, despite working closely with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri and Phil Foden on a daily basis, Jesus has still been absolutely blown away by Saka and Martinelli.

Not only is this a testament to their talents, it’s also reflective of Mikel Arteta’s coaching ability and the standards that are now being set at Arsenal amongst these young stars coming through at the Emirates.

Jesus came from City where only the crème de la crème survive, and yet, he’s still being impressed by Arsenal’s young talents.

The Gunners have a bright future with these two in the team, that’s for sure.
