Man Utd complete signing of Brighton defender Maya Le Tissier

Manchester United have completed the signing of full-back Maya Le Tissier from Brighton.

Le Tissier has emerged as one of the brightest young English talents in the WSL and has signed a three-year deal with United until the summer of 2025

She still had a year left on her contract with Brighton, with reports suggesting that United have agreed to trigger a release clause in the region of £60,000.

Le Tissier only turned 20 in April but made her senior debut for the Seagulls in 2018. The player was born in Guernsey and has represented England at various junior international levels.

United have seen two full-backs leave the club since the end of last season, with Martha Harris landing with Championship club Birmingham and Kirsty Smith now at West Ham.

Before Le Tissier’s arrival was confirmed, Ona Batlle and Hannah Blundell were the only remaining specialised full-backs from last season’s first-team squad.

United have until now prioritised attacking targets in the transfer market, securing deals for Canada international Adriana Leon and WSL veteran Rachel Williams. Teenage midfielder Grace Clinton has joined from Everton, while a deal for Nikita Parris is believed to be close.
