Martin Odegaard has warned his Arsenal teammates of the threats posed by newly-promoted Fulham, especially their ‘dangerous’ striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The Gunners host Marco Silva’s side at the Emirates Stadium, where they will be hoping to keep their 100 per cent record in the Premier League this season in tact.
Wins over Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Bournemouth have seen Arsenal move to the top of the table after three matches played, with Mikel Arteta’s side impressing thus far.
Fulham, meanwhile, have drawn against Liverpool and Wolves, and picked up a win over Brentford last weekend.
Their talisman upfront, Mitrovic, has followed up his fine season in the Championship last year with three goals in his first three Premier League matches this season.
Speaking in Arsenal’s official matchday programme, Odegaard insisted the Gunners will need to be ‘very sharp’ to beat Fulham on Saturday.
‘It’s nice to see us on top of the table though, especially as some of the big clubs have already dropped points,’ said the Arsenal captain.
‘Again it shows how tough this league is, all of the teams can create problems against anyone.
‘Today’s opponents have already shown that, getting a draw with Liverpool and not losing in the league yet this season.
Fulham have got good players all over the pitch, it’s a very strong team with a lot of individual qualities.
‘Aleksandar Mitrovic is always dangerous in the box and they created a lot of problems for Liverpool.
‘They too have got lots of confidence as a team, after a good start but also coming off last season when they basically won all their games, so they are used to that. We have to be very sharp to beat them.’
