Michael Owen wowed by ‘magic’ Arsenal star player who is just ‘pure class’

Michael Owen has stated that Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is just ‘pure class’ and the one that creates ‘magic’ for his team, as he told Premier League Productions.

The former England striker added that players who can play in tight spaces out on the pitch are the ‘real class’ acts and Odegaard is just that for Mikel Arteta’s men.

For back-to-back games, Odegaard has found the back of the net, and whilst his side’s win at Bournemouth was straightforward last time out, their three points against Fulham were much tougher from the weekend.

The 23-year-old is the one who takes the ball in pressure situations and he has a great ability to have an excellent weight of pass in that final third.

That was proven against Fulham, who put up a serious fight at the Emirates, only to be downed by a team now sitting top of the Premier League table after four matches.

Odegaard is a player that is much-liked by one-time Premier League winner Owen and he shared what he does so well for his side.

“Those players that can play in those short spaces, they are the real class acts,” said Owen. “Anyone can play with loads of space.

“But you see in tight situations, Odegaard gets played the ball and he throws his leg over just to create another inch of space.

“It’s class, just pure class. Arsenal then get their magic players like that playing.”

In the summer, Arteta handed Odegaard the captain’s armband after it was previously held by Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

As the likes of other captains of the club can vouch, there is serious pressure on that role, but at this moment in time, the boxes are being ticked.

It has been a pretty long time since Arsenal won four Premier League games in a row and they have every chance to make it five from five on Wednesday night.

Aston Villa, who have lost three of their four games this season, visit the Emirates Stadium and it might just get even better for Arsenal fans next week.
