Indian Super League (ISL) side, Mumbai City FC on Monday confirmed the signing of Sanjeev Stalin from fellow Indian side, Kerala Blasters FC as they strengthen their side ahead of the upcoming season.
Staling came into prominence after he provided the assist for Jeakson Singh to score India’s first ever goal in a FIFA tournament against Colombia in the Under-17 competition which was held way back in 2017.
Apart from being one of the best young left-backs in the country, the 21-year-old is known to be good at set-pieces and free-kicks, with the defender making a total of seven appearances for the Blasters during last season, racking up a total of 445 minutes for the club.
He was a part of the Kerala squad which finished in the top two of the inaugural Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL), and thereby helped them qualify for the Next Gen Cup which is scheduled to be held in the United Kingdom.
The 21-year-old has also represented India at various youth age groups and will look to impress for the Islanders in the upcoming ISL season – thereby ensuring that he remains in the hunt for a call-up to the senior Indian men’s national squad by head coach, Igor Stimac.
