Gary Neville has praised Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus on his podcast after watching him in action against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium today.
Arsenal got the better of Liverpool 3-2 in North London in the Premier League.
Brazil international striker Jesus started the match for the Gunners, but he did not score.
However, the 25-year-old former Manchester City star won a penalty in the second half that Bukayo Saka successfully converted.
Former Manchester United star Neville was impressed by Jesus’s performance and has outlined the attributes that make so important to the current Arsenal team.
GARY NEVILLE ON GABRIEL JESUS FOR ARSENAL V LIVERPOOL
Neville said about Jesus: “Jesus is a 5ft 10in targetman. He backs into people, he holds people off.
“He turns people, he rolls them, he pops it off to people, he is a brilliant centre-forward. He runs the channels, he runs the sides, he hunts down and he presses.”
BIG PLAYER FOR THE GUNNERS
In our opinion, Gabriel Jesus has been superb for Arsenal so far this season and has made the Gunners better and more potent in attack.
Jesus is a very mobile striker who can dribble past opposition defenders, score goals and set up his teammates.
The 25-year-old is not afraid to get stuck in, and he plays with flair.
Jesus has hit the ground running at Arsenal and has been banging in the goals for fun.
The Brazilian star has scored five goals and provided three assists in nine Premier League matches for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this season.
Arsenal are doing well at the moment, and if they are to become genuine challengers for the title this season, then Jesus will have to stay on top of his game.
