Current Indian Super League (ISL) champions, Hyderabad FC have extended the stay of midfielder, Sahil Tavora – with the 26-year-old signing a new two-year contract contract which will keep him at the club till the end of the 2023/24 season.
Tavora who moved to Hyderabad FC in 2019, established himself as a key part of their title winning side, scoring the 88th-minute equalizer in the ISL final in March earlier this year against Kerala Blasters FC, following which the team had won the summit clash in a penalty shootout.
“The progress the team as a whole and I as a player have made over the last two years under Coach Manolo Marquez was a major factor in me deciding to extend my contract here,” Tavora said on his new deal.
The midfielder who started his career with Goan side, Dempo came into prominence primarily at Hyderabad, for whom he has made 31 appearances so far and has also played for fourth-tier Portugal side, GDSC Alvarenga in the past.
“He is technically good, is very strong in duels, can shoot from distance and is also a leader in the squad, on and off the pitch,” Hyderabad FC head coach, Manolo Marquez added on Tavora’s extension.
