“Sleepless night”: Oleksandr Zinchenko admits Liverpool star gives him sleepless nights

Oleksandr Zinchenko has been speaking about Mohamed Salah ahead of the Premier League clash between Arsenal and Liverpool on Sunday.

The Ukraine international was asked which opponent has given him a sleepless night in the past, and he interestingly named the Egypt international ahead of tomorrow’s clash at the Emirates Stadium.

ZINCHENKO WARY OF SALAH AHEAD OF ARSENAL VS LIVERPOOL

Speaking to Sports Direct, the £30m Arsenal man said: “Mo Salah. I need to prepare myself as much as I can because he is a world class player.”

The Liverpool No.11 has scored eight goals in 16 appearances against Manchester City throughout his career, while also providing five assists, so Zinchenko has often suffered against the Egyptian.

He is yet to face Salah since swapping Manchester for north London back in July, and in this instance, the Arsenal No.35 might sleep a little easier as a result of the 30-year-old’s form.

Salah has failed to score in his last four Premier League appearances, and even somehow failed to get on the scoresheet when Liverpool beat Bournemouth 9-0 in August.

He was back amongst the goals against Rangers on Tuesday, scoring from the penalty spot as Liverpool recorded a 2-0 win, although the man who scares Zinchenko still isn’t himself in terms of scoring from open play.

LIVERPOOL MUST BEAT ARSENAL

If Liverpool fail to pick up three points tomorrow afternoon, then their season becomes a fight to qualify for the Champions League – the Reds can forget about a title charge if they suffer defeat in north London.

As things stand, Jürgen Klopp has hit side sat ninth in the Premier League with just ten points from a possible 21 – even the likes of Fulham, Brighton and Newcastle are above them.

Arsenal are already 11 points clear of Liverpool, and if that gap is widened tomorrow, it really will give the Anfield faithful a different perspective on what to expect from this season.

Whatever happens, it should be a great game between two attacking sides.
