Barcelona’s third 1-0 win in a row extended their unbeaten streak to 13 games as they defeated mid-table Girona at Estadi Montilivi.
Barcelona won in a scrappy fashion, as expected, after failing to break the opposition’s low-block. Their task was made even more difficult when Ousmane Dembele was injured in the first half and had to be replaced.
Eventually, super subs Pedri and Jordi Alba assisted Barcelona in scoring the game’s lone goal in the 61st minute, after which the visitors failed to create a single decent chance.
Pedri came on early and brought some much-need composure to the Barcelona midfield. While evidently far from his best, Pedri still ended up scoring the only goal of the game on his 100th appearance.
