Arsenal have looked like a very different side this season. Arteta has well and truly transformed his team, and one of the biggest reasons behind their impressive form is their new signings.

Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko, in particular, have given the Gunners a huge lift. Their quality, experience and winning mentality have helped the North Londoners win 10 of their first 11 games in all competitions, and they could go on to achieve something really special.

In an interview with the club’s official website, Xhaka spoke about Arsenal’s incredible form this season. He praised all the new signings for bringing in different characteristics to the side and went on to reveal what Zinchenko kept on doing before the Liverpool game last weekend.

He said: “Alex Zinchenko is a guy who is funny, you can joke with him.

“We had a meeting before the Liverpool game, he was speaking and speaking and speaking and speaking. He was sitting behind me, I was thinking: ‘When are you going to stop talking?! (laughs)’

“He’s a lovely guy, he’s very open. We need this kind of person in our team.”

Our View:

Apart from their obvious quality, Zinchenko and Jesus’ leadership on the pitch is evident for everyone to see.

The two are constantly seen speaking to their teammates before and during the game, with Jesus now a very vocal presence in the huddle just before kickoff every time as well.

Arteta and Edu deserve immense praise for bringing the two in after missing out on the Champions League. They’ve pushed this Arsenal side to a whole new level, and Gunners fans will be hoping they can go all the way.

Arsenal take on Leeds United tomorrow, and Zinchenko, according to Goal, is a big doubt for the game.
